Details
December is the month of victory, the month of glory in the heart of Bengalis. On December 16, 1971, at the end of the great liberation war of 9 months, the Pakistani forces surrendered at Race Course Maidan (now Suhrawardy Udyan) in Dhaka. The independent Bengali state of Bangladesh emerged through the final victory.

The feeling of victory is always one of joy, but also of pain. We remember with deep respect all the martyred freedom fighters and oppressed mothers and sisters, whose sacrifices we have got independent Bangladesh today.
